I will be heading home mid-feb for 2 or 3 weeks. I’m leaving my car in Calgary and flying into Kitch. I’m excited to sled and board with all my family and friends! I will then be flying back to Calgary and taking my car to Vermillion, AB where I will start school. I’m very much looking forward to it. I have attended some fire practices at the volunteer fire dept here in Lake Louise and I love it. Cheers to the future!
I love it here. Also another choice that made it on the ‘Best Decisions I have Ever Made’ list. It’s weird moving to a new place where people don’t know anything about you or your past. Its a new place to start fresh and figure out who you really are (So deep, I know).
My snowmaking job is pretty fun. We work 12 hours shifts: 3 days on, 4 off, 4 on, 3 off schedule and it is great. We get to snowboard all day and drive sleds at night. As easy as that all sounds, we still have to deal with the cold, shovel a lot and drag frozen hoses. The best part is, everyone at home is studying and writing exams and I’m being paid to shred!
Life here at LL is a lot like I would expect college residence to be like (because I have never expereinced). It’s fun! There is 7 of us (2 Aussies, 2 Germans, 2 Ontarians, 1 Frenchie) in a unit who share 2 bathrooms and a kitchen/living room. There is never a dull moment in this residence!
There is basically a 8:1 ration of boys to girls here. Sooo most of my friends are boys. It also doesn’t help that all my immediate co-workers are boys. But what else is new? hah There are a million Aussie’s here who I go on road trips with. So entertaining!
